Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for an IT Support Specialist for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Construction clients in Pasadena, CA .
The IT Support Specialist position primarily supports and maintains the Company's computer equipment and related systems while providing excellent customer service.

The IT Support Specialist position primarily supports and maintains the Company's computer equipment and related systems while providing excellent customer service.
Principal Accountabilities
- Install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade hardware, software and other related equipment or systems while ensuring optimal performance
- Troubleshoot issues (in person or remotely) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide client training and assistance where required
- Provide hardware and software technical support to office and remote clients.
- Generate documentation for IT processes and procedures
- Configure laptop and desktop hardware and software to company standards within specific time frames
- Receive and respond to personal requests, incoming calls, IM,e-mail and support tickets regarding computer or IT related problems
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of clients, and recommend and implement corrective actions as needed
- Answer to and perform installations, moves, adds, and changes (IMAC) requests as they are submitted
- Work with other IT Support personnel to maintain an organized and efficient work environment
- Following up with clients to ensure problem resolution and satisfaction
- Maintain customer-centric attitude when working with clients
- Maintain compliance with all IT Policies and Procedures
- Assist with software training; includes e-mail, Internet, network, word processing, spreadsheet, applications and PDF
- Evaluate the needs of clients to determine what new equipment/software may be needed.
- Maintain an inventory of all computer equipment and related peripherals
- Attending regular staff meetings and participating in other IT related activities, such as training seminars or trade show events
- Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization
- Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Keep current with IT trends and technologies and willingness to advocate positive change within the IT Department
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
- One year of experience working with Microsoft Windows desktop OS, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- One year of experience troubleshooting current PC hardware, including Lenovo laptops and desktops, and peripherals
- Travel: Must be able and willing to travel periodically, typically less than 10% depending on the needs of the company.
- Education: Associate degree in an Information Technology related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- COMPTIA A+ Certification
- Experience in a Novell Netware environment
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- This position requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule with 24/7 availability while on-call.
- This position requires the ability to utilize a keyboard and similar equipment typically found in an office environment.
- Frequent exposure to repetitive motions of the wrists or hands
- Visual acuity to distinguish colors in varying degrees, view objects in multiple dimensions, and see fine points/details of artwork and lettering
- The ability to view a computer monitor and distinguish figures or symbols
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Travel domestically and internationally to office locations
- Incumbents in this position must be able to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally
- No substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions is required
