Associate Director of IT Operations
Location: New York City - Hybrid

About the Role:
We are seeking an Associate Director of IT Operations to lead and manage an organization’s technology environment. This hybrid role oversees IT operations, including technical support, managed services, cybersecurity, helpdesk management, IT procurement, policy enforcement, and systems/network administration. 

Key Responsibilities:

IT Operations & Technical Support

  • Provide strategic oversight of technical support and managed service providers (MSPs) for distributed teams.

  • Ensure SLA compliance and high service quality through monitoring, ticket escalation, and vendor coordination.

  • Oversee network performance and connectivity for office and remote environments.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management

  • Lead cybersecurity initiatives including endpoint protection, vulnerability management, incident response, and log monitoring.

  • Implement and maintain data governance policies and staff security awareness programs.

  • Design and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Helpdesk & End-User Support

  • Manage helpdesk operations and ensure SLA compliance.

  • Support the IT needs of employees across the organization, including onboarding and offboarding processes.

Cloud, Systems & Infrastructure Administration

  • Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Intune, and endpoint management tools.

  • Support hybrid cloud-first infrastructure and maintain system documentation and automation scripts.

  • Manage backup and disaster recovery systems, as well as DNS, WAF, and DDoS protection services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

  • 6–8+ years of progressive IT operations experience, including infrastructure, support, and systems administration leadership.

  • Proven experience managing MSPs, vendors, and distributed teams.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud environments (Microsoft 365, Azure), network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs), endpoint management, and cybersecurity frameworks.

  • Hands-on experience with IT operations tools, backup systems, disaster recovery, and system automation (PowerShell or similar).

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
