Job Details

Title: Software Engineer SME
Location: San Antonio, TX (Top Secret required personnel may be remote but may be required to be onsite to access the SCIF facilities in San Antonio up to one week, 2 times per month)
Clearance: Top Secret (SCI eligible)
About this role:
  • Client is seeking a Software Engineer SME to work with the Pipeline Services Product Line Manager, and Pipeline Architect to ensure that pipelines support the needs of software developers, adhere to DoD IA standards, and the DoD CIO DevSecOps Reference Design to support the rapid fielding of customers software to the DevSecOps Platform.
We are seeking professionals with:
  • BS; Engineering, Computer Science, or technical degree or industry experience equivalent
  • 5 years; Contributing on a technical team for a software or IT project.
  • 3 years; Development containerized applications and delivery to a containerized platform
    • Kubernetes, Docker, and the Open Container Initiative
    • Cloud Native Computing Foundation projects
    • At least two of: Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby, or Go
    • Continuous Delivery and Deployment Automation
    • Unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing
    • Microservice Architectures
    • Cloud Computing
    • NIST Risk Management Framework
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Cloud Native Security Associate at start
  • Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist within 90 days of start
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II within 30 days after start:
    • CCNA-Security
    • CySA+?
    • GICSP
    • GSEC
    • Security+ CE
    • etc.
What will make you successful:
  • Ability to design and implement best practices and standards in software development such as readability, code coverage, code smells, identification of appropriate technologies that are approved for DoD environments
  • Ability to identify and address bottlenecks and proactive improvements in current software delivery
  • Ability to identify and address cybersecurity strategies and issues for software development
  • Ability to write clean and functional code to address challenging problems
Nice to have:
  • M.S.; Computer Science or Engineering field
  • 10+ years; Contributing on a technical team
  • DoD 8570/8140 IASAE Level II and Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist at start

Pay Range: $160,000 - $200,000

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
