On-Site Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor

  • Hours Per Week: 40
  • Shift: 8 Hour Days, 5 shifts per week
<>Job Requirements</>
  • 1-3 years of health information management experience in a healthcare setting required (acute care preferred).
  • 1-year supervisory/leadership experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records, health information systems, and healthcare applications required.
  • Proficient in medical terminology required.
  • Experience with regulations and accreditation standards.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Associates Degree in a health-related field (RHIT) or completion of a healthcare degree program (RHIA) required.
<>Responsibilities</>
  • Manage daily operations within HIM for multiple healthcare facilities and clinics.
  • Oversee staff training, education, quality, productivity, and report management.
  • Support department and hospital staff with HIM-related issues and provide follow-up and escalation as needed.
  • Assist HIM Manager/Director with forms management, HIPAA requests, regulatory readiness, and compliance activities.
  • Act as a liaison between IT and EPIC end users.
  • Facilitate meetings and handle situations independently in the absence of the HIM Manager/Director.
  • Perform quality reviews and communicate feedback to staff.
  • Participate in the creation and revision of policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage productivity and approve/edit timesheets in Kronos.
  • Interview and select skilled staff, assist in training, and provide feedback on work performance.
  • Manage requests for information according to HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate assigned projects and facilitate department meetings and huddles.
