Job Title: Cloud/Linux Deployment Engineer

Duration: 9+ months with possible extension
Rate/Salary: A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $65.00 to $70.00 hourly on W2 . Actual pay will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs, and will be set by your employer. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in base pay.
Job Description:
World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking a Cloud/Linux Deployment Engineer for a 9+ months contract position based in Denver CO, as part of our Strategic Resourcing Services and staff augmentation efforts.
In this role, the selected consultant will work directly with a WWT client, supporting their internal team and business objectives. While WWT facilitates the position, the consultant will be employed by one of WWT s preferred partner organizations, which will provide complete details regarding compensation and benefits before employment.
Day to day responsibilities:
Desired Qualifications
- 4+ years Linux System Administration
- 4+ years experience object-oriented Python, software development or relevant scripting languages
- 4+ years experience writing Ansible automation scripts
- Experience delivering projects Agile or other iterative methodologies
- Any Arista, Cisco or Datacenter Certifications
- Knowledge of VMware and ESXi hypervisor
- Collaboration Tools: Proficient in GitHub, Jira, SharePoint, Wiki
Skills and Experience Bare Metal Provisioning
- Bare Metal Provisioning/Bootstrapping: Vaquero, Foreman, Tinkerbell, RackN Digital Rebar, Ansible, Kickstart and other technologies such as PXE, iPXE, DHCP
- Working knowledge of hardware platforms (Dell, Cisco, HP)
- Very familiar with out-of-band/lights-out server communication methods, such as IPMI, IDRAC, CIMC, iLO and serial console
- Strong experience and understanding of Linux (CentOS/RHEL, Debian, CoreOS/Flatcar )
- Solid networking fundamentals (Layer 1, 2, and 3)
Datacenter
- Demonstrated knowledge of DCIM tools such as DCTrack and Netbox and/or other tools
- Working knowledge of fiber optics, structured cabling installation, and overall inside plant cabling (ISP) technologies
- Basic understanding of Datacenter Rack/Stack/Power methodologies
Scripting-Automation
- Experienced scripting in Ansible, Python, Go, shell and/or other language
