Job Description

AECOM is seeking a BIM/CAD Manager to lead office wide strategic efforts in Building Information Modeling. The successful candidate will be an innovative designer with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to conduct team meetings, develop polices, plans and standards.

Primary market sectors served from AECOM's Arlington office include Department of Defense, Healthcare, Mission Critical, Justice, and Federal Civilian and Intelligence.

The BIM/CAD Leader understands the strategic importance of BIM/CAD for project delivery, while also being proficient at producing a wide range of work using BIM/CAD tools. This person will serve as the office champion for BIM/CAD strategies, education, and leadership. The successful candidate will lead Architectural, Structural, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Electrical discipline BIM/CAD leaders in a committee structure.

The BM/CAD Manager will be responsible for the following items:

  • Assist project teams in BIM project setup

  • Support project standards coordination with customers

  • Create Revit families

  • Help resolve BIM design issues

  • Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team

  • Communicate with subcontractors to receive, coordinate, and update all electronic models

  • Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customization of the Autodesk Suite of products

  • Basic scripting knowledge to help manage the implementation of supporting software, custom toolbars, macros, and Dynamo routines for BIM

  • Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies and make recommendations based upon office needs, workflow process and efficiencies

  • Create, upgrade, and deploy strategies for the BIM implementation effort

  • Provide IT with hardware and network support as it relates to BIM production

  • Solve problems whenever they arise

  • Provide BIM Fundamental/Intermediate training and continuing education to staff

  • Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops for BIM, bringing back learning and disseminating the information to appropriate teams

  • Web, literature, interviews, presenting at relevant client focused conferences.

  • Identify trends and business opportunities relating to BIM

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Architecture and/or Engineering plus eight (8) years of relevant BIM/CAD experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Professional experience with Autodesk's Revit is required

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required


Preferred Qualifications

  • Autodesk Certified Professional preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of technology-based collaboration systems

  • Prior experience with large & complex project delivery using Revit & CAD

  • Proven coordination process experience including working with consultants using multiple platforms

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,000.00 - $130,000.00.
