Varonis Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Varonis Engineer to support the administration, reporting, and operational use of Varonis DatAdvantage and Data Privilege other components of Varonis. This role will be responsible for ensuring the security and proper access of data across file systems and collaboration environments, with a focus on access review workflows, permissions analysis, and producing actionable reports for business and IT stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Should have a hands on experience support operations and daily maintenance of Varonis DatAdvantage and Data Privilege platforms.
Should have a experience on generating scheduled and ad-hoc reports from Varonis on data access, permissions, and user activity etc.
Good understanding on data lifecycle management activities.
Support and troubleshoot Data Privilege workflows, including access review campaigns and entitlement reviews.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders regarding data access reporting and permission audits.
Good understanding on the events collections & Work with data owners and business units to assist with remediation activities.
Identify overexposed data and collaborate with IT or business teams to reduce unnecessary access permissions.
Maintain access control baselines and alert thresholds based on evolving risk models and business needs.
Document standard operating procedures, reporting methodologies, and support playbooks.
Liaise with Varonis support to escalate product issues and ensure timely resolution of platform-related problems.
Assist in onboarding new departments, file shares, and user groups into DataPrivilege access review processes.
Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA) through regular auditing and reporting.

Should have experience on file walk jobs execution. Review and troubleshoot the file walks.
Should have experience on billing utilization for Varonis.
Experience integrating Varonis with ticketing or SIEM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Splunk).

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information security, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 4+ years of experience in IT security, data governance, or access management roles.
Hands-on experience with Varonis DatAdvantage and Varonis Data Privilege.
Strong understanding of NTFS permissions, Active Directory, and file system architecture, Billing, file walk Jobs, .
Proficiency in building custom reports and customized reports and ad-hoc reports and dashboards within the Varonis platform.
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences effectively.
Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell) to automate reporting and data extraction.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as SOX, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, or GDPR.
Knowledge of broader data classification or DLP tools is a plus.
