Job Details

Leidos is seeking a MacOS System Administrator to be part of the mission solution and help lead SSA's Digital Modernization Strategy. Join one of our high performing teams responsible for building out enterprise-level Apple mobile device management, supporting the Social Security Administration (SSA) and their mission to meet the changing needs of the public, positively impacting at least 65 million American lives per month. We are a team of forward-looking professionals in need of a strong candidate with these key required skills: iOS/macOS Support (Sonoma / Sequoia), Jamf Pro, Jamf Composer, Install of Hardware and Software, Incident/Ticketing System.

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work on-site in Woodlawn, MD 5 days a week.

  • Build, maintain, automate, ensure reliability, and implement Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions using system engineering best practices and the latest technologies: Jamf Pro, and Microsoft Intune.
  • Use MDM solutions (Jamf Pro, Intune) to enroll, configure, secure, and manage devices.
  • Build custom packages (Jamf Composer) to install software per organizational requirements.
  • Use strong problem-solving skills and excellent customer service skills to troubleshoot onsite and remote user issues.
  • Assist in the acquisition, installation, testing and evaluation of Apple/macOS hardware and software.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot Mac books and iOS devices.
  • Track inventory, including the location of all systems, software releases and telecommunications equipment.
  • Evaluate new software packages, Microsoft 365, JAMF, or Apple features and capabilities and make recommendations for their adoption.
  • Create technical documentation in Confluence, or SharePoint. Resolve and document work on incident tickets in Jira/ServiceNow.
  • Brief management, customer, team, or vendors using written and oral skills at appropriate technical level for audience.
  • All other duties as assigned or directed.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of Bachelor's Degree.
  • Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.
  • 4+ years of combined experience managing Apple/macOS, iOS, iPad OS hardware and software.
  • 3+ years of experience with MDM solutions (Jamf Pro, Jamf Composer, Intune).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:
  • Solid experience implementing device management, application management, and compliance management using Jamf Pro, Jamf Composer, and Microsoft Intune.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware/software interface and interoperability problems relating to system patches, updates and enhancements on macOS, iOS, iPad OS devices.
  • Experience with imaging, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting Mac books, iPads, and iPhones.
  • Experience with automation and scripting using tools such as AppleScript, Shell Scripts, Automator, or Launchd.
  • Solid experience with Active Directory for user and group management, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Extensive knowledge of Mac OS operating systems, system configurations, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, VPN configurations, SSL certificates, and integration of Mac systems in mixed OS environments.
  • Experience providing technical support and customer service directly to users.
  • Ability to lift, move, and setup workstations; ability lift, up to 50 lbs.; Ability to drive (less than 10 miles) between RMB, PEB and Leidos buildings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of modern development through the following experience or skills:
  • JAMF certification and/or other Apple Certifications.
  • Basic understanding of MECM/SCCM and imaging process. Experience implementing Microsoft Windows patches and security controls.
  • Hands-on experience administering/troubleshooting Windows Server (Windows Server 2019/2022) and installing/maintaining software on server.
  • Experience working with government or highly regulated customers.
