Job Details
Development of design, fabrication and installation documentation to assist contractors during installation.
Specification and purchase of equipment within financial budgets - creating a Bill of Materials.
Oversight of equipment fabrication and installation.
Custom design of manufacturing and packaging equipment using first principal physics. Robotic integration would be a plus.
Serve as a Project Manager for Team projects with multiple disciplines, managing engineering scope, cost, and schedules to deliver efficient, high-quality projects in a timely fashion.
Engineer will be expected to execute multiple projects of different sizes simultaneously.
Required Education and Experience:
Four Year Engineering Degree
Proficient use of 2-D AutoCAD and 3-D Design Software (Autodesk Inventor and Solid Edge or Solid Works) is preferred.
Understanding of Packaging Line Equipment Layouts
Five Years of Experience in packaging, converting, material handling, in the pulp and paper industry. Having food / beverage or custom automation equipment experience is a plus.
Machine design background.
Capable of doing integration/reverse engineering on equipment.
Sheet metal experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience in detailed design and mechanical tolerances.
Experience in fluid power design and control such as pneumatics and hydraulics systems.
Experience as a mechanical engineering lead for large capital projects.
Experience in power transmission - Direct Coupled and Belt Driven.
Experience with pumps, piping and ducting is a plus.
Having knowledge of controls systems is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes
Work Environment:
60-75% standard office setting
25-40% shop and manufacturing facility
Physical Demands:
Sufficient mobility to work in an office setting; stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must have ability to walk long distances and possess the flexibility to maneuver in and around machinery to take measurements. When on customer startups, must be able to travel long distances by car or plane and have the stamina to work extended hours (12+ hours per day) for up to 14 continuous days.
