Job Title: Shift Supervisor (3rd Shift)
Location: Chattanooga, TN

Type: Direct Hire

Salary range is $80-$95k annually plus OT as required. MMI has traditionally worked +100 hours OT a year. (Night Shift) Minimum of 5 year's experience in 4-5 axis, high spec work. Minimum of 8 years of experience in a job shop/manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Position Summary:
The Shift Supervisor oversees Machine Shop operations during assigned shifts, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and production schedules. This role involves leading a team of machinists and operators, coordinating workflow, and maintaining optimal equipment performance to meet production goals.? Must be willing and able to run production machinery as required. Ability to perform simple CNC programming tasks is a must.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production staff, including machinists and operators.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance personnel to coordinate timing of inspections and resolution of issues.
  • Monitor production processes to maintain quality standards and meet scheduled production targets.
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections and coordinate maintenance as needed.
  • Train and mentor new and existing employees on operational procedures and safety practices.
  • Manage shift schedules, time-off requests, and staffing to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Address and resolve operational issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate production records and prepare shift changeover communications.
  • Collaborate with other day shift supervisor and departments to ensure seamless operations across shifts
  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a job shop/manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum of 5 year's experience in 4-5 axis, high spec work.
  • Experience in Turning and Milling both is a plus.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints, especially geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery operation, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work normal off shift hours (10pm-7am)
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity for operating machinery and inspecting products.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures in a manufacturing environment. ?
