RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Engineer in Pleasanton, CA.

Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Data Engineer with a strong background in building scalable data pipelines and supporting real-time data platforms. This role requires close collaboration with Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Modeling, and Real-Time Streaming teams to design and deliver high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain real-time data pipelines to support Machine Learning and Data Science initiatives
* Work closely with Data Science and ML teams to understand data requirements and enable efficient access to large datasets
* Build and manage microservices in Java to support data ingestion and transformation workflows
* Collaborate with the Data Modeling team to ensure the consistency and integrity of data models across systems
* As a Data Engineer, you will partner with real-time streaming teams and support the Databricks Data Link architecture
* Leverage MongoDB for efficient data storage and retrieval across microservices
* Implement and optimize data flows using tools and frameworks aligned with GCO and BG standards
* Develop and optimize data solutions using Google Cloud Platform BigQuery for large-scale querying, analytics, and performance tuning

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role
* Strong experience with real-time data streaming frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming)
* Hands-on experience in building and deploying Java-based microservices
* Experience collaborating with ML/Data Science teams to meet complex data requirements
* Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform BigQuery, including data modeling, querying, and performance optimization
* Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
* Experience with schema design, data governance, and performance tuning
* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering
* Familiarity with Databricks, Delta Lake, and integrating with Data Link pipelines
* Proficiency with MongoDB and other NoSQL databases
* Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
