Job Details

Description:

The ideal candidate will be skilled in analysing complex data structures, developing and optimizing ETL processes, and collaborating with SMEs and technical teams to ensure seamless data migration and transformation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • SQL Server (Strong): Advanced SQL queries, complex stored procedures, triggers, views, query tuning.
  • Database Structures: Strong understanding of relational/dimensional models, indexing, and optimization.
  • Mainframe Systems: Ability to read COBOL copybooks, interpret VSAM/DB2 data structures.
  • ETL/DataStage (Intermediate): Hands-on experience developing ETL jobs for extraction, transformation, and load.
  • Control-M (Essential): Job creation, scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting job dependencies.
  • Data Orchestration: Experience coordinating data flows across mainframe and SQL environments.

Additional Technical Requirements

  • SQL Performance Tuning query plan analysis, indexing strategies, optimizing large joins.
  • SSRS creating/modifying reports based on stored procedures.
  • Data Migration VSAM SQL Server experience, including data cleansing & validation.
  • Source-to-Target Mapping translating legacy fields into relational database equivalents.
  • Experience with IBM RAA (Rational Asset Analyzer).
  • GIT version control, CI/CD pipeline automation.
  • Strong proficiency with LINUX/UNIX Shell scripting, C#, and VB.NET (preferred).
  • Pension Administration system experience (preferred but not mandatory).

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the identification, inventory, and classification of critical data.
  • Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and validation activities to support the legacy system replacement.
  • Create and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation, translating legacy fields into relational database equivalents.
  • Extract business rules from COBOL programs and transform them into ETL/SQL specifications.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes in IBM DataStage for data extraction, transformation, and load.
  • Administer and troubleshoot BMC Control-M jobs and workflows, including complex interdependencies.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and technical leads to identify and address data quality gaps.
  • Create data dictionaries, valid value lists, and maintain comprehensive documentation.
  • Support defect handling, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for data-related issues.
  • Work closely with IT teams to remediate data quality issues using manual and automated solutions.
