Description

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report onsite at the Austin IT Innovation Center North, Warren MI, or Atlanta GA location three times per week minimum or other frequency dictated by the business. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.

The Vehicle Data Engineering team is seeking an accomplished professional with a proven track record of building large scale data platforms on cloud environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in high throughput data streaming platforms, data storage / file system architectures, data security and governance, as well as enabling data consumption patterns for data scientists and business users.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design and development of migrating GMs on prem vehicle data systems to cloud environments
  • Design data solutions around current and future data security and privacy requirements
  • Work with data engineers and data scientists to create (or leverage an existing) MLOps framework that allows seamless deployment, scaling, maintenance, and monitoring of ML Models
  • Train and mentor staff engineers in cloud development principles and emerging data engineering technologies
  • Focus on continuous improvement of GM's data ecosystems and lead prioritization of technical initiatives to that end
  • Influence decision makers, both technical and executive, on technology strategy and adoption

Additional Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • 10+ years of experience building and operating scalable and reliable platforms
  • Highly Skilled in Programming Design Paradigms covering both Object Oriented and Functional Languages
  • Experienced in designing, implementing and managing data solutions on cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure with a focus on cost effectiveness. Data solutions to include applications, streaming data pipelines and operational data stores
  • Strong understanding of security, scalability and performance in cloud applications including in multi cloud data sources and multi region development
  • Proficiency in Linux administration, container orchestration, with a preference for expertise in Kubernetes
  • Very good understanding of efficiently storing and serving large volumes of data through API and other data delivery methods with experience in Service Mesh, Service Discovery, Routing, Logging Infrastructure, CI/CD tools, etc
  • Expertise with data security and privacy practices in multi-region cloud environments with the ability to design solutions to address data governance requirements
  • Proven ability to influence technical strategies across organizations and diverse stakeholder communities

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is : $172,900 - $264,800 Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
