Overview
The Senior Scrum Master will be joining a team that is developing and enhancing the MicroStrategy reporting environment as well as a Machine Learning tool within a larger product. The Senior Scrum Master will lead multiple cross functional teams, guiding them on how to use Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) values/practices through servant leadership. The Senior Scrum Master creates and nurtures a culture of continuous learning, growth mindset and agile maturity in teams through agile practices, agile mindset, metrics, SAFe guidelines, removing blockers and partnering with leadership.
Responsibilities
Facilitate Sprint estimation and Sprint planning meetings to identify product backlog items to be worked in a sprint and to estimate level of effort of development activities.
Lead daily standup meetings, track progress by keeping the sprint backlog up-to-date, and help to remove impediments.
Conduct an end of sprint review meetings where sprint products are demonstrated to stakeholders.
Conduct Sprint grooming, provide progress reports including but not limited to meta scrum report/burn-up/burn-down charts/User Story Point updates etc.
Update Product Backlog Items to include new or revised requirements and backlog item.
Foster collaboration and communication between team members on technical issues, on process improvements, and in addressing and escalating project risks and issues.
Required Skills & Experience
SAFe (4.0 or higher) certified with a Bachelor s degree and 8+ years of experience in the use of Agile methodologies OR SAFe (4.0 or higher) certified with a High School diploma and 12+ years of experience in the use of Agile methodologies.
3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master supporting large organizations, managing cross-functional teams.
Experience acting as a Scrum Master for Machine Learning and/or Artificial Intelligence-related and Cloud-related projects.
Experience working in a product-focused team and organization.
Extensive knowledge of Lead Agile values, principals, and practices and extensive knowledge of Lean Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
Proven success leading multiple Agile teams to agile maturity and improved customer outcomes.
Excellent communication skills written and oral.
Self-starter with ability to prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
Ability to organize data and create metrics/reports/dashboards.
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and industry standard Agile tools such as Jira.
Ability to drive change at different levels and manage conflicts constructively.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Experience leading change and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience doing value stream mapping and system level optimizations and applying Theory of Constraints and other Lean techniques.
Experience working in the healthcare / health insurance industry.
Experience supporting teams/organizations using MicroStrategy as a BI-reporting platform.
