Work arrangement:
- Onsite in Indianapolis, IN.
- W2 position, 12 months
- The Senior Software Safety Engineer in Aerospace Controls collaborates with other teams and customers to develop electrical, electronics and mechatronics control system safety work products such as: System Safety and Reliability Assessment, Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) or Common Cause Analysis (CCA)
- Works with a cross-functional team to establish the highest standards of technical capability, quality, professionalism, and teamwork
- Provides and supports engineering and process guidance, training and creates documentation
- Prepares and reviews engineering work products for technical documentation, quality, completeness
- Resolves complex problems through the application of acquired technical experience and knowledge
- Develops and communicates complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way
- Bachelor s degree or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 5+ years of product development engineering experience
- Experience with aerospace safety certification
- 5+ years of product safety engineering experience
- Software development or system safety analysis
- Application of agile development methods to deliver engineering work products
- Experience with military qualification and/or FAA certification of airborne systems
- Familiarity with the one or more of the following standards: ARP4754, ARP4761, MIL-STD-882, MIL-STD-1629, DO-178C, DO-254, AMCOM 385 and IEE 1633-2016
- Gas turbine engine, propulsion, or electrical control system experience
- Demonstrated experience with control system design and one or more of the following tools: Fault Tree+, Reliability Workbench, DOORS, Cameo Systems Modeler
- Knowledge of systems engineering, and robust design tools and techniques coupled with the latest model-centric development approaches
