Our team is searching for a Sr Data Engineer who'll be a key addition to the Data Management, Governance, and Privacy (EDMG) organization, supporting T-Mobile's broader shift toward a "build and engineering culture." The position will focus on operationalizing governance principles-such as data quality, privacy, and lineage-directly within engineering workflows, ensuring that foundational standards are applied consistently across platforms and teams.
This role is crucial in bridging the gap between governance policies and technical execution. It will help drive the development of scalable, governed data pipelines and services that enable both compliance and innovation. By embedding a governance-first mindset in delivery, this engineer will directly contribute to improving data reliability, platform interoperability, and trust across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:
Develop data engineering solutions, including data pipelines, visualization and analytical tools - Attacama or Collibra.
Craft and develop data architectures in on-premises, cloud and hybrid platforms
Data wrangling of heterogeneous data, exploration and discovery in pursuit of new business insights
Actively chip in to the team's knowledge and drive new capabilities forward
Mentor team members in efforts to build data their engineering abilities
Assist team management in defining projects, including helping estimate, plan and scope work
Prepare and contribute to presentations required by management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
5+ yrs developing cloud solutions using data series; experience with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud)
5+ yrs experience with Collibra or Ataccamais required
Hands-on development using and migrating data to cloud platforms
Experience in SQL, NoSQL, and/or relational database design and development
Sophisticated knowledge and experience in building sophisticated data pipelines with Python, Experience in languages such as SQL, DAX Python, Java, Scala, and/or Go
Analytical approach to problem-solving; ability to use technology to address business problems
Solid understanding of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores
Ability to lead work across multiple projects, good communication skills
Passionate about learning new technologies

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.
At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
