Summary:
Planning and Design Engineer II for our Fortune 50 client in the Telecommunications industry. They will be responsible for construction coordination and the planning and designing of broadband communication systems.

  • Work schedule: Tuesday-Saturday
Responsibilities:
  • Works with project team to design systems and determine project specifications. Creates construction jobs, ensures proper documentation available to proceed, assesses nearby jobs for synergies, conducts point to point design and reserves wavelengths and is tightly aligned with the network plan group to ensure builds are holistic.
  • Assists with project status to ensure progress toward completion and required procedural steps are completed fully and in a timely manner.
  • Creates construction jobs from a variety of intake sources. Validates documentation and information available to proceed. Where needed, obtains additional information to move the job forward.
  • Leverages Plan tools to assess nearby jobs for integration.
  • Participates in the design of broadband communication systems using various design software packages. Prepares special keys, charts, diagrams and graphic drawings for use by other departments. Updates and maintains system maps, keys, and design files. Tracks and keeps current system spreadsheets and documents.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, Engineering, GIS, or Equivalent Experience
  • Generally requires 2-5 years of related experience
  • Experience with IRIS
  • Any design/fiber/RF is a plus
  • PM skills helpful, manage projects and info requests, reach out to construction leads
