Job Description
Role Overview
Portfolio Strategy Consultant with deep experience in medical device manufacturing and healthcare software development within regulated environments. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on execution, engaging with internal stakeholders across the enterprise to assess, refine, and improve portfolio management practices, tools, and reporting.
The consultant will partner with leaders in Portfolio & Strategy, IT, and functional domains to ensure our portfolio management tools provide easy access to data, , and actionable dashboards that support C-level decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Engagement: Interview executives, portfolio managers, product owners, and tool stakeholders to understand current processes, pain points, and future needs.
- Portfolio Management Analysis: Assess existing portfolio management (PPM) processes, tools, and data usage across Team.
- Tool Strategy & Roadmap: Develop recommendations to enhance portfolio management tools (e.g., Clarity PPM or similar) for usability, scalability, and regulatory alignment.
- PPM/EMR Expertise: Leverage prior experience with implementation of PPM systems or healthcare IT platforms (EMR/EHR) to identify integration and improvement opportunities.
- Data & Analytics Enablement: Design approaches for easy data access, analytics, and executive dashboards that deliver clear insights into portfolio performance and strategic priorities.
- Big Picture + Details: Maintain a strategic, big-picture view of portfolio alignment with corporate goals, while diving into detailed process and data improvements when needed.
- Executive Support: Provide analysis, insights, and recommendations to C-level executives to support portfolio-level decision making.
Qualifications
- Industry Expertise: 10+ years experience in medical device, healthcare technology, or regulated software development environments.
- Portfolio & Strategy Experience: Demonstrated success in portfolio management, strategy consulting, or enterprise program management.
- PPM Tools Expertise: Hands-on experience with Clarity PPM or similar project/portfolio management tools.
- Implementation Knowledge: Experience with PPM tool deployments and/or EMR/EHR system implementations a strong plus.
- Regulatory Awareness: Knowledge of FDA, ISO, and healthcare compliance considerations in software and medical device development.
- Analytical Strength: Skilled in translating complex portfolio data into actionable insights, dashboards, and executive-level communications.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interviewing, facilitation, and communication skills; proven ability to collaborate across business and technical teams.
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required; Master s degree or MBA preferred.
