Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Build and deploy applications using innovation and best engineering practices. Participate in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Apply core computer science concepts, Object Oriented Programming principles, data structures, algorithms and cloud technologies, with focus on scalability, memory management and performance optimization. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Participate in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or in a related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, IT Consultant, Web Developer, or in a related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) of experience with the following: Developing and designing software solutions and applications using object-oriented programming concepts in Java and Python programming languages; and Writing and tuning SQL queries and designing data models using normalization principles for optimized performance. This position requires any amount of experience with the following: Implementing end-to-end software development life cycle including writing production quality code, and conducting code reviews with Git version control system and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CICD) using Jenkins; Building and managing projects using Maven; Running unit tests using Unit Test, and Pytest frameworks; Leveraging data to solve complex business challenges by applying of Spark, Big Data and NoSQL technologies; Developing shell scripts for process automation on Linux systems; and Designing, developing, and implementing software solutions with emphasis on scalability and focus on API development using REST protocol for service integration.
