Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly capable Data Engineer to support the design, development, and integration of a global data infrastructure, with a focus on Azure cloud services. This individual will play a key role in enabling real-time and hybrid data connectivity across both on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and optimize data models across various business systems, with an initial focus on Oracle Financials.
Work across business units to understand needs and develop scalable, informed data models this role cannot operate in a silo.
Engage with stakeholders to ask thoughtful, strategic questions that inform model development and ensure alignment with business decision-making.
Work comfortably across hybrid infrastructure supporting both on-prem and cloud-based systems.
Address and resolve pain points around near real-time data integration, including SaaS vs on-premise data challenges and building hybrid data connectors.
Navigate existing tool limitations (Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran) and apply creative solutions within current constraints no system overhauls or re-platforming.
Collaborate with existing Snowflake vendor support and internal teams to build robust, maintainable data pipelines.
Experience:
Strong proficiency in Azure Data Services, including Azure Data Factory
Experience working with Snowflake and hybrid cloud architecture
Hands-on experience with data integration, IAM, and real-time data pipelines
Proven ability to build cross-functional data models with inputs from multiple business domains
Familiarity with business systems such as Maximo, Oracle Financials, and customer data platforms
Experience with STREAM Phase 2/Denodo decommissioning is a plus
