Position: Technical Writer

Location: Morrisville, NC | Partial remote

Duration: 12+ month renewable contract

Type: W2 contract, paid hourly. No C2C, 1099, or third-party submissions will be accepted. Only direct W-2 candidates will be considered.

Pay Rate Range: W2 $30-45/hr

Job Description:

The Technical Writer is responsible for generating innovative ideas for content while working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The position researches products, services, technology or concepts to be documented and easily understood by a broad audience. Write technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions. Assist in layout work. Gather and research information for use in technical documentation

Some of the duties and responsibilities of a Technical Writer include:

Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.

Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.

Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.

Analyze information required for the development or update of policy, procedure and form documentation.

Review and/or copyedit content developed by other members of the team.

Minimum Requirements: ("Must have" Qualifications)

2 years of technical writing experience

Clarity and Conciseness: Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and straightforward manner.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding the subject matter and staying updated on industry trends and terminology.

Research Skills: Proficiency in gathering and analyzing information from various sources.

Communication Skills: Effectively conveying ideas to different stakeholders and understanding user needs.

User Experience Focus: Anticipating user questions and tailoring documentation to enhance usability.
