Job Title: Database Architect - W2/1099

Location: Phoenix, AZ (Fully Onsite for 5 days)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Database Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server technologies to design, implement, and optimize enterprise-level data solutions. This role requires strong knowledge of ETL processes, performance tuning, data Modeling, cloud database services, and data governance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping the data architecture to support business intelligence, analytics, and application development across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Lead the architecture and implementation of ETL processes to support data integration and transformation from various sources.
  • Perform performance tuning of SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Develop logical and physical data models that align with business requirements and data governance standards.
  • Implement and manage cloud-based database services (e.g., Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics).
  • Collaborate with application developers, data engineers, and business analysts to ensure efficient data flows and availability.
  • Define and enforce data governance policies including data quality, security, and compliance standards.
  • Provide database support and troubleshooting for production, staging, and development environments.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and tools for continuous improvement of the data platform.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (master s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SSIS, SSRS, and T-SQL.
  • Proven experience in ETL development, performance tuning, and query optimization.
  • Strong background in data modeling (OLTP and OLAP) and database architecture.
  • Experience with Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, Blob Storage).
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
