Compensation: $115,000-$135,000
Location: Omaha, NE - Hybrid or Remote

The job:

As a Senior QA Engineer at Buildertrend, you'll help shape the quality of the software that powers residential construction around the world. You combine technical excellence with a product-driven mindset, a talent for clear communication, and a passion for mentoring. By leading automated testing efforts and mentoring others, you'll raise the bar for quality across your team.

What you will do:

• Design and maintain clean, reliable automated test scripts that align with team goals and user expectations.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to clarify stories and define meaningful, testable acceptance criteria.
• Advocate for quality throughout the development process, from sprint planning to release.
• Mentor junior QA engineers, sharing best practices and offering hands-on support.
• Participate in team ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Evaluate and implement new tools or approaches that improve test coverage and efficiency.
• Stay up to date on testing trends and technologies, sharing insights with your team

Who you are and what you need:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field required.
• 6+ years of QA test automation experience required.
• Strong understanding of all levels of test automation (unit, service, end to end), and how they fit into the testing pyramid.
• Expertise in automated test design patterns and best practices.
• Experience using Playwright to create automated test scripts is highly preferred. Cypress or Selenium experience is helpful.
• Ability to communicate and engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience guiding and mentoring junior QA engineers.
• Experienced in Agile or Scrum development environments
