Title: Cloud Engineer EKS, Datadog/Splunk SaaS W2 Contract
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid 2 to 3 days onsite per week)
Duration: 12+ Months
Employment Type: W2 Only No C2C

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in Amazon EKS and SaaS-based observability tools like Datadog or Splunk Cloud. You will be responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable, and observable cloud infrastructure to support mission-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters using Amazon EKS.
Implement infrastructure automation using IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Integrate and manage observability stacks using Datadog, Splunk SaaS, or equivalent.
Create alerting, logging, and monitoring strategies aligned with SLAs and business needs.
Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and Security teams to optimize performance and cost.
Troubleshoot cloud-native applications and improve system reliability and uptime.
Implement CI/CD best practices for containerized workloads.

Required Skills:

8+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering or DevOps roles.
Strong hands-on experience with Amazon EKS and container orchestration.
Experience with Datadog, Splunk SaaS, or other observability platforms.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
Familiarity with Terraform, Helm, or similar IaC tools.
Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud cost optimization in AWS.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer).
Experience with service meshes (Istio, Linkerd) or GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux).
Prior experience in a regulated or enterprise environment (finance).
