Ford Motor Company is growing our manufacturing and technical expertise in High Pressure Die Casting, Greensand molding, and Semi-permanent molding castings for structural, EV, and ICE vehicle applications Core Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) is seeking highly motivated candidates for a Technical Specialist position in structural and complex casting commodities. Our supplier business partners are a very important part of this growth. STA organization supports our Global suppliers with Manufacturing Technical expertise as they invest and grow their business to support ours. Ford Motor Company is looking for an experienced casting professional to join our Global Core Casting team. This team is composed of Technical Experts, Managers, and Manufacturing Engineers who assist the suppliers as they grow with Ford Motor Company.

What you'll do...
  • Responsible for complex and structural casting (High Pressure Die Casting, Greensand molding, Semi-permanent molding & other) New Technology manufacturing risk and feasibility assessments
  • Technical expertise lead for sophisticated structural and complex casting industrialization
  • Provide organization structure to support Ford Core STA competitive strategy
  • Drive Prevent Recurrence by creating and maintaining Ford manufacturing process standards capturing lessons learned, best practices and technical innovations
  • Work with product engineering on manufacturing feasibility input to engineering specifications (ES) and manufacturing design rules for structural and complex castings
  • Evaluate casting manufacturing processes to deliver a process that guarantees parts that meet quality targets
  • Lead implementation of structural and complex casting manufacturing quality control strategies
  • Provide guidance to purchasing for structural and complex casting sourcing by providing risk assessment POV
  • Drive governance of casting Special Process Assessment & Health Charts maintenance and updates
  • Review casting quality & capacity indicators and drive technical support to address issues
  • Develops technical training to increase competency in supply base and develop/deploy Ford casting expertise globally by providing structural and complex casting training and development
  • Collaborate with industry experts in development of Global industry casting standards and assessments


You'll have...
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering
  • Casting Technical Publication
  • Experience in the following areas is required: High Pressure Die Casting, Greensand Mold Casting, and Semi-permanent Molding Casting
  • Advanced knowledge of casting manufacturing process(es)
  • Technical casting knowledge
  • Knowledge of problem-solving and quality tools
  • Demonstrated initiative and capability to provide technical leadership to peers and management to assure the delivery of product programs
  • Strong communication skills required to mentor & develop engineers and present technical findings

Even better, you may have...
  • MBA/MS - Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical or Metallurgy/Materials Science
  • 10 years of casting manufacturing or process engineer experience
  • Advanced problem-solving skills (Black Belt Certification preferred)
  • Knowledge of vehicle development and launch
  • English (+Spanish plus) language fluently to effectively communicate with global teams
  • Solid understanding of various casting manufacturing processes and process control
  • Operational experience in casting manufacturing processes and process control
  • Demonstrated ability to perform manufacturing feasibility assessments
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
