Job Details

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Hands-on E-Commerce Data Lead for an assignment with one of our premier Automotive Services clients in India.

Responsibilities :
  • Guide and build robust, scalable, and secure data solutions supporting our e-commerce platforms.
  • Role blends leadership with technical execution-you will architect and implement modern data pipelines, mentor a growing team, and ensure our data ecosystem enables fast, reliable insights and seamless integrations across our digital commerce stack.
  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of end-to-end data pipelines for e-commerce platforms, ensuring scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop, configure, and manage workflows using Apache NiFi and AWS Glue for ingestion, transformation, and integration of large-scale data.
  • Implement and maintain serverless processing with AWS Lambda and data lake solutions on Amazon S3.
  • Oversee relational and analytical data stores, with deep hands-on experience in PostgreSQL (including schema design, tuning, and query optimization).
  • Partner with engineering, product, and analytics teams to ensure timely delivery of clean, trusted, and governed data.
  • Drive adoption of Data DevOps practices, integrating CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Jenkins, automating deployments, monitoring, and quality checks.
  • Establish and enforce data testing and validation processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Stay current with AI-assisted code generation tools and leverage them where appropriate to accelerate development and testing.
  • Provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and accountability.
Required Skills:
  • Proven expertise with Apache NiFi Or Java and AWS Glue in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL and advanced SQL.
  • Experience with streaming data tools including Kafka.
  • Solid understanding of data pipeline orchestration, error handling, logging, and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of data quality assurance practices (unit tests for data, schema validation, regression checks, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AI code generation tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) and how they can accelerate development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional e-commerce environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
Preferred Skills:
  • Prior experience with eCommerce platforms like Hybris, Magento, or custom-built microservice commerce engines.
  • Experience with Python and NodeJS for scripting, automation, and testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD observability stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms or transactional systems (Hybris, Magento, Shopify, etc.).
  • Exposure to data modeling for analytics (e.g., star/snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling).
  • Experience with data governance, privacy, and compliance in a retail or financial setting.
