Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Data Engineer to join our growing data and analytics team. This individual will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable, high-performance data pipelines and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Snowflake, DBT Core, Airflow, and Python, with a strong background in managing complex data transformations and orchestration workflows.

Experience working with clinical or healthcare data is highly desirable, and knowledge of HIPAA or similar compliance standards is a plus.


Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development
    Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using Apache Airflow for ingesting, transforming, and loading data into Snowflake.

  • Data Modeling & Transformation
    Build and manage ELT/ETL workflows using DBT Core to produce clean, validated, and analytics-ready data models in Snowflake.

  • Snowflake Architecture
    Design and optimize Snowflake environments, including performance tuning, warehouse configuration, and access management to ensure data security and integrity.

  • Python Development & Automation
    Leverage Python for scripting, automation tasks, API integrations, and to support AI/ML tools within the data ecosystem.

  • Advanced SQL Development
    Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data transformation, exploration, and issue resolution.

  • Data Quality & Monitoring
    Implement robust testing, validation, and monitoring frameworks to maintain high data quality, accuracy, and completeness.

  • Troubleshooting & Debugging
    Proactively identify and resolve pipeline issues, performance bottlenecks, and system failures.

  • Clinical Data Experience (Preferred)
    Work with clinical/healthcare data while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration
    Partner with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality, data-driven solutions.

  • Ownership & Delivery
    Take full ownership of projects, from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and exceptional quality.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in:

    • Python (for scripting and automation)

    • SQL (complex queries and performance optimization)

    • Snowflake (data warehousing and architecture)

    • DBT Core (data transformation and modeling)

    • Apache Airflow (workflow orchestration)

    • vsCode (preferred development environment)

  • Experience building and maintaining modern data pipelines and cloud data platforms.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to debugging and optimizing data workflows.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with clinical or healthcare datasets.

  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and healthcare data privacy/security standards.
