JOB DESCRIPTION

HPC Scientific Applications Systems Analyst/Programmer Senior

HOW THIS POSITION AND YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Devises, develops, or modifies procedures to solve complex scientific application problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
Prepares detailed specifications from which scientific domain-specific programs will be written.
Designs, codes, test, debugs, documents, and validates those programs .Indicate how they will work with the team to resolve challenges
Scientifically competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities.
May be responsible for completion of a phase of a project.
Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced analysts/programmers.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelors degree in either a Scientific or Computer Science/Engineering discipline;
Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience;
Required Technical Skills:
- Cloud Applications, Cloud Computing, Computer Programming, Design, High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems
- Experience in porting applications to both on-premise and cloud-based HPC systems;
- Experience in performance analysis and optimization tuning;
- Ability to provide implementation support of complex scientific workflows and associated applications;
- Experienced in the identification and containerizing of scientific applications and user-based solutions that are suitable for containerization;

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication and writing skills;
- Ability to meet project milestones with minimal supervision;
- Ability to work and collaborate in a remote team environment;

Preferred Skills:
- Able to work seamlessly within a Linux environment;
- Compiler experience (examples C, C++, and Fortran);
- Python code development (desired, but not required);
