We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Offshore Data Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the implementation of our Product Information Management (PIM) system, Salsify. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and integrations to ensure seamless data flow between various source systems and Salsify. This role requires a deep understanding of data engineering principles, strong ETL/ELT capabilities, and hands-on experience with PIM systems, particularly Salsify.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Integration & Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient ETL/ELT processes to extract, transform, and load product data from diverse source systems (e.g., ERP, DAM, e-commerce platforms, spreadsheets) into Salsify.

  • Salsify Expertise: Leverage Salsify's API, connectors, and data import/export functionalities to optimize data ingestion and syndication. Configure data models, attributes, and relationships within Salsify to align with business requirements.

  • Data Quality & Governance: Implement data validation rules, cleansing procedures, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure high data quality, consistency, and accuracy within the PIM system.

  • Solution Design & Architecture: Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, and PIM specialists to define data integration strategies, data mapping, and technical specifications for the Salsify implementation.

  • Performance Optimization: Identify and resolve data-related performance bottlenecks, ensuring efficient data processing and timely updates within Salsify.

  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert support for data integration issues, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and resolve technical challenges related to data flow into and out of Salsify.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data flow diagrams, ETL specifications, data dictionaries, and integration guides.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, marketing, IT, and external vendors, to understand data requirements and deliver effective PIM solutions.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry best practices in data engineering, PIM, and Salsify updates, recommending and implementing improvements to existing processes and tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on data integration and ETL/ELT development.

  • Proven hands-on experience with PIM systems, specifically Salsify. (Experience with Salsify's API, connectors, and data models is a must).

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL).

  • Strong experience with data integration tools and platforms (e.g., Talend, Informatica, MuleSoft, custom scripting with Python/Java).

  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling principles.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their data services is a plus.

  • Familiarity with API integrations (REST, SOAP) and working with JSON/XML data formats.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with other PIM/MDM solutions.

  • Knowledge of product data syndication to various channels (e-commerce, marketplaces).

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Certifications in relevant data engineering or cloud technologies.
