Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Cable Technician based in Asheville, North Carolina. This role primarily involves providing end-user training, cable installation, and troubleshooting services for our telecom provider. The candidate will be expected to travel within the Asheville and Hendersonville areas while ensuring the highest level of customer service at all times.

Responsibilities:
Conducting end-user training for approximately 30 minutes at the end of each installation
Installation of various cable types including Cat5, copper, and fiber optics, as well as splicing
Traveling between Asheville and Hendersonville, with potential expansion to cover most of western North Carolina
Participating in MS Teams interviews with the team and in-person lunches with other team members
Working closely and maintaining good communication with the team
Prioritizing customer experience and ensuring the provision of 'white glove service'
Applying skills in broadband, EO/IR systems, networking, OSP, patch panel, AB testing, cable installation, cabling, coax cable, and digital.

Requirements

Proficiency in broadband systems and operations
Familiarity with EO/IR systems and their application in cable technologies
Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols
Knowledge of Outside Plant (OSP) operations and maintenance
Experience with patch panels and their installation
Ability to perform AB testing and analyze results
Proven experience in cable installation and maintenance
Proficiency in cabling techniques and best practices
Experience working with coax cable systems
Understanding of digital technologies and their application in cable systems.
