Description
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to join our team in Manhattan Beach, California. This position is within the women's sports shoe division, focusing on lifestyle and trend-driven footwear designs. As a long-term contract role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring the seamless coordination and testing of materials while contributing to the creative and technical aspects of product development.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the materials team to source, evaluate, and select materials that align with trend-driven footwear designs.
Conduct technical testing and analysis of materials to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards.
Stay updated on footwear trends and incorporate relevant insights into material selection and product development.
Communicate effectively with international teams, including liaising with colleagues in China.
Provide support in developing and maintaining color palettes and trend reports for upcoming collections.
Assist in cross-training activities to ensure a smooth transition during team member absences.
Maintain detailed records and documentation related to materials testing and sourcing.
Work closely with design teams to ensure materials meet aesthetic and functional requirements.
Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of footwear trends, materials, and shoe-making processes.
Technical expertise in materials testing, including understanding evaluation methods and standards.
Background in fashion, with familiarity in trend reports and color palettes.
Degree in a related field preferred; relevant coursework is a plus.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Solid understanding of material sourcing and quality assurance.
Mandarin language skills are a plus for international collaboration.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
