Location: Austin TX (Onsite)

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow CMDB ITOM with a proven track record of successfully transforming and optimizing Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) on a global scale. The ideal candidate must have deep expertise in IT Operations Management (ITOM) within the ServiceNow platform, strong strategic vision, and the ability to collaborate effectively with application and platform teams to drive enterprise-wide CMDB maturity and operational excellence.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive global CMDB strategy aligned with business objectives and ITOM best practices.
Drive the end-to-end design, architecture, and implementation of ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM solutions to improve data accuracy, integrity, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate closely with application owners, platform teams, and IT stakeholders to facilitate data integration, discovery, and reconciliation processes.
Establish governance frameworks, standards, and policies to ensure ongoing CMDB health, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Provide expert guidance on ServiceNow ITOM modules, including Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Orchestration, and Cloud Management.
Lead workshops, training sessions, and stakeholder engagements to promote CMDB adoption and awareness across global teams.
Monitor and report on CMDB performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and driving corrective actions.
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and ServiceNow platform enhancements to recommend innovative solutions.
Mentor and coach junior architects and technical teams to build internal CMDB and ITOM capabilities.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILL SETS
8-10 years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM modules, including but not limited to:
-Discovery
-Service Mapping
-Application Portfolio Management
-Event Management
Orchestration
-Cloud Management Deep understanding of ITIL framework, particularly Configuration Management, Change Management, and Incident Management processes.
Proficiency in ServiceNow platform customization, including scripting (JavaScript, Jelly, AngularJS) and workflow automation.
Experience with integration technologies and protocols such as REST, SOAP, LDAP, and MID Server configurations.
Strong knowledge of data modeling, relational databases, and CMDB schema design.
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and their application to ITOM and CMDB strategy.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their integration with ServiceNow ITOM solutions.
Skilled in using monitoring and event management tools and integrating them with ServiceNow Event Management.
Knowledge of security best practices related to CMDB data access, role-based permissions, and compliance requirements.
Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies in the context of ITOM and CMDB development and deployment.
Relevant certifications such as ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist for Discovery (CIS-D) or ITOM are required
Certified Technical Architect (CTA) and Certified Master Architect (CMA) Certifications are highly desirable
QUALIFICATIONS
Proven ability to design, architect, and implement scalable and maintainable Configuration Management Databases (CMDB) that align with enterprise ITOM strategies.
Strong champion of CMDB and ITOM best practices, capable of influencing and driving adoption from senior leadership through to application and platform teams.
Expertise in developing and enforcing CMDB governance frameworks, data quality standards, and lifecycle management processes.
Exceptional communication and facilitation skills to engage diverse stakeholders, conduct workshops, and translate complex technical concepts into business value.
Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional collaboration, fostering alignment between ITSM, application development, infrastructure, and platform teams.
Experience in managing global CMDB initiatives, including multi-region data integration, compliance, and operational consistency.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in ITOM processes.

Bachelor s degree or master s in computer science, Engineering, Software Engineering or a relevant field
