Job Description
We are seeking a skilled bilingual Quality Assurance Tester to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of customer-facing applications that serve millions of users daily. You will be responsible for analyzing requirements, designing comprehensive test strategies, executing manual test cases, and identifying defects across multiple platforms including web applications, mobile apps, IVR systems, and chatbots.
Day-to-day, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and product managers to understand requirements and ensure deliverables meet both functional and design specifications. You will work in an agile environment, participating in sprint planning, test case reviews, and defect triage sessions. The ideal candidate is passionate about software quality, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact customer satisfaction and system reliability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze business, functional, and design specifications to develop comprehensive test coverage and identify testing requirements.

  • Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases, detailed test scripts, test data, and other testing artifacts.

  • Execute manual test cases across multiple platforms including web, mobile, IVR, and chatbot applications.

  • Isolate, replicate, and report software defects in JIRA with clear documentation and validate defect fixes.

  • Facilitate test plan and test case reviews with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment and completeness.

  • Identify and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management per defined processes.

  • Perform ETL testing and write SQL queries to validate data integrity and transformation logic.

  • Organize and maintain centralized repositories of testing artifacts to ensure reusability and knowledge sharing.

  • Monitor and communicate testing status, metrics, and overall program health to leadership teams.

  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives throughout the project lifecycle.


Required Experience/Skills

  • 6+ years of relevant experience conducting testing of critical customer-facing applications.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.

  • Fluency in Spanish (bilingual requirement).

  • Solid understanding of IT processes and standards with proven testing experience.

  • Experience testing various application types including mobile apps, IVR calls, chatbots, and ETL processes.

  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data validation and testing purposes.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to understand complex business and functional requirements.

  • Experience isolating and documenting software defects with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage risks, and follow up with stakeholders to clear impediments.


Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with qTest and JIRA for test management and defect tracking.

  • Knowledge of test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, TOSCA, or Cypress.

  • Ability to build test automation frameworks from scratch.

  • Experience performing peer reviews of test cases and execution results.

  • Familiarity with preparing project/program-level test plans for functional and non-functional testing.

  • Experience organizing and maintaining dashboard reports at project or program level.

  • Knowledge of latest trends in software testing and willingness to conduct proof-of-concept initiatives.

  • Proactive involvement in design and architecture discussions during all project phases.

  • Experience in the utilities or energy industry.


Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Pay & Benefits Summary
