Maximus is seeking a Security Administrator Lead to become an integral part of our Department of Defense (DoD) client team in Arlington, VA.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead security team consisting of personnel and physical security personnel to support the government client
  • Be capable of independent decision-making, possess a high degree of individual initiative and organizational skills, and function with minimal supervision.
  • Supervise the operation of the special security area and administer SCI and SAP security programs.
  • Maintain applicable SCI and SAP directives, regulations, manuals, guidelines, and instructions
  • Ensure conformance with established security guidelines; provide timely feedback and status upon request track, summarize, and report the status of various documents and projects.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the provisions of the NISPOM, its Supplement, the DoD Overprint, DCID, ICD, and SAP policy
  • Plan, coordinate, and confirm logistical support (transportation, badges, security clearance paperwork, audio-visual support, and etc.) for meetings
  • Provide all facets of program security administration in support of program initiatives, to include personnel, physical, information, industrial, and SCI security
  • Manage the teams self-inspection activities
  • Verify and update Program Access Rosters
  • Prepare and maintain personnel security files (PSFs)
  • Manage, prepare, transmit, and receive visitor access requests (VARs); verify visitor clearances
  • Lead management of annual program access validations for multiple programs and present findings and recommendations to the government
  • Provide guidance and oversight to defense contractors
  • Prepare, review and coordinate DD 254s
  • Provide day-to-day security management and oversight of the SAPFs/SCIFs
  • Review Fixed Facility Checklists (FFCs) and make corrective recommendations
  • Implement all applicable requirements to maintain Facility Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS)
  • Maintain all required facility paperwork and accreditations and coordinate tests, inspections, and repairs of program facilities
  • Ensure proper handling and marking of classified materials
  • Assist with the Security Awareness and Education program; reviews inspection results to correlate training products and priorities
  • Monitor security incidents
  • Execute special projects as required


Minimum Requirements:
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher. 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement. An Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
  • 8+ years of demonstrable experience.
    • 4+ years of experience as a Program Security Officer, or similar role
    • 4+ years of experience supporting the DoD or IC.


Desired Skills:
  • Security experience in a SAP facility preferred
  • Experience as titled COMSEC account manager or COMSEC policy implementation officer.
  • Experience with Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the Joint Access Decision Environment (JADE)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
