Job Details

One of our long term financial services client is looking to hire a Java Developer in Chicago, IL. The candidate will need to be in office 2-3 days a week

 

Description
The individual will work on feature enhancements, performance improvements, bug fixes and troubleshooting production issues, with a broad range of trading applications. The candidate must be self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies. He/she will need good analytical skills and will have opportunity to work with the end users directly to come up with creative and practical technology solution for different business problems. He/she will be mentored by other Lead developers.

Responsibilities:
• Write core java code adhering to overall architecture and design of existing applications
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to resolve any issues reported by QA / Test Analysis
• Understand performance metric and factors affecting the performance and find ways to improve it
• Leverage automation for increased efficiency
• Track own progress to ensure timely delivery
• Bring in fresh ideas to make improvements
• Participate in code reviews for own as well as others' code
• Work with other teams involved in project life-cycle

Qualifications Required:
· Master or bachelor's degree in computer science or Engineering
· Have 3+ years of experience in software development
· Strong Objected Oriented Design and Programming experience
· Strong trouble shooting and problem-solving skill
· Deep understanding of Core Java
· Experience with relational database (Oracle) & SQL
· Proficient with Jenkins and Chef
· Proficient with UNIX/Linux and shell scripts
