Role: Technical Lead (Java & React)

Location: Wilmington DE, or Iselin NJ (Hybrid)

Duration: 6+ Month, CTH (W2 Contract)

About the Role:

• We're looking for an experienced Technical Lead to spearhead our transformation initiatives, modernizing legacy systems into scalable, cloud-native microservices with intuitive user interfaces. You'll lead cross-functional teams in building resilient backend services using Java and Kafka, and crafting performant, responsive frontends using React. If you're passionate about clean architecture, developer experience, and scalable design-this is the role for you.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement distributed microservices-based systems using Java and Spring Boot
• Lead UI development with modern React, emphasizing reusability, performance, and accessibility
• Design scalable event-driven workflows with Kafka and optimize for high throughput
• Own the CI/CD pipeline and DevOps lifecycle, driving automation and quality
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver features end-to-end
• Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, and cultivate engineering excellence
• Evaluate and integrate Google-standard engineering practices across the stack

Minimum Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with proven leadership in agile environments
• Expert-level proficiency in Java backend development and React frontend development
• Hands-on experience in designing and deploying microservices architectures
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, REST APIs, and asynchronous messaging systems
• Deep understanding of CI/CD tools and cloud-native deployment strategies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Passion for clean code, testing, and system scalability

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience modernizing monoliths into microservices in enterprise environments
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) or other major cloud providers
• Contributions to open-source projects or tech communities
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
