Our long time client in the insurance industry is looking to add on a Application Analyst/Developer to manage API's and help them migrate to current Windows environments and best practices for cloud adoption. They are looking for someone to come into their Waverly, IA location 4 days per month. responsibilities:


1. Enterprise Modernization & Infrastructure Migration

  • Legacy Retirement: Actively drive technical work to migrate applications and services from outdated platforms, specifically transitioning from Windows Server 2012 to current Windows Server environments.
  • API Gateway Transition: Execute the migration of on-premises API gateways (e.g., API Connect) to the modern APIM platform, ensuring integrated services are accurately configured and secured in the new architecture.
  • Technology Currentness: Ensure integration solutions align with and leverage current corporate IT standards and cloud best practices.
2. Secure Development & Integration Delivery
  • Integration Development: Design, build, and deploy new, efficient integration services and APIs using .NET (C#) to seamlessly connect core systems like LitePro and the Mainframe (ADD) with various internal and external applications.
  • Application Security: Proactively ensure the security of integration layers by utilizing security scanning tools (e.g., Veracode) to analyze vulnerabilities and implement timely remediation efforts.
  • Full Ownership: Assume end-to-end ownership of the integration layer, managing components from development and testing through to production deployment and maintenance.
  • SLO/SLA Management: Implement and maintain robust monitoring and logging to guarantee that all integrations meet defined performance and availability SLOs/SLAs.



qualifications:

Required Qualifications and Skills


7+ years of progressive experience in software development, application analysis, or system integration.


.NET Expertise: Deep proficiency in C# and the .NET Framework/.NET Core for high-volume service/API development.


Cloud Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services relevant to enterprise integration (e.g., Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, App Services).


Integration Platforms: Proven experience with API Gateway systems (e.g., APEM, API Connect, or similar) and managing the full API lifecycle.


Database & Analysis: Strong SQL skills for complex data querying, validation, and managing data integrity across integrated systems.


Security Tools: Direct experience using SAST/DAST tools like Veracode to identify and implement fixes for code-level security vulnerabilities.


Domain (Preferred): Familiarity with Life and Annuity policy administration systems (e.g., LitePro) and mainframe integration points.


Work Style: Demonstrated ability to work independently, own technical decisions, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a time-sensitive environment.
