Senior Program Manager - Data Platform Modernization (Consulting Engagement)

Our firm is hiring a Senior Program Manager to support one of our clients in their enterprise data and analytics platform modernization initiative. This is a high-visibility consulting engagement that requires a seasoned program orchestrator who can manage governance, align stakeholders, and hold multiple systems integrators accountable. The successful candidate will not be expected to be a deep technical expert but must be fluent enough in modern data and analytics programs to manage delivery, communicate effectively across technical and business teams, and ensure the program stays on track. This is a hands-on role where the Program Manager will need to both "fly the plane and build the plane at the same time."

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end program management for the client's data platform modernization, ensuring alignment with business objectives and executive vision.
• Establish and run program governance, including steering committees, risk/issue management, and executive-level reporting.
• Act as the central point of coordination between two systems integrators (one providing strategic leadership, the other driving technical execution), ensuring accountability, alignment, and delivery.
• Build and maintain program roadmaps, timelines, dependencies, and resourcing plans.
• Manage stakeholder communication across business and technology teams, translating complex technical concepts into clear business impacts.
• Drive vendor management, ensuring scope, contracts, budgets, and deliverables are met.
• Prepare and deliver board- and executive-level program updates, surfacing risks and recommending mitigations.
• Partner with internal client teams (Data Engineering, Analytics, IT, BI) to ensure
• alignment and adoption.
• Oversee change management, training, and communications to ensure successful user adoption and business value realization.

Required Qualifications

• Reside in EST or CST timezones
• 8+ years program management experience with large-scale IT, data, or analytics initiatives.
• Proven track record managing multiple vendors and/or systems integrators in complex transformation programs.
• Strong governance, executive reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels, including board and executive audiences.
• Ability to manage $2M+ program budgets and multi-team dependencies.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and enterprise program governance tools (e.g., JIRA, RAID logs).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.
• Comfortable balancing strategy with execution - able to operate as both a planner and a doer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern data platform concepts (e.g., Snowflake, cloud warehouses, BI modernization) and ability to translate these into business outcomes.
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certification.
• Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
• Background in consulting, advisory, or large-scale transformation program management.
