Job Title: FIX Support Engineer / Trading Technical Business Analysis

Location: Houston, TX

Duration / Term: Long-Term Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient IT BA/PM to lead and support trading systems initiatives across a dynamic, high-pressure environment. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in commodity trading, capital markets, and price risk management, along with hands-on expertise in FIX engineering, market data protocols, and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for trading systems and regulatory initiatives
  • Analyze and map RFQ, order, and trade lifecycles to improve system efficiency
  • Collaborate with business, development, QA, infrastructure, and support teams
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across technical and business domains
  • Deliver scalable algorithmic trading technology in a compliant and flexible manner
  • Ensure alignment with MiFID II, RTS6, and other financial regulations
  • Manage exchange certifications, application deployments, and vendor relationships
  • Support instrument static data, EMS/OMS platforms, and market data systems
  • Communicate effectively with traders, developers, and stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 8 years in Commodity Trading, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking
  • Strong understanding of global futures exchanges and exchange-traded derivatives lifecycle
  • Experience with Third Party Networks and EMS/OMS vendors (e.g., TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen)
  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments
  • Hands-on experience with FIX protocol, TCP, multicast, and messaging systems
  • Technical skills in Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL, and scripting
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, and liquidity aggregation platforms
  • Proven ability to work under pressure in a trading room environment
  • Strong documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills
