Manager Front End Engineering
About the Opportunity:
Our team has partnered with a health and wellness organization seeking a Manager Front End Engineering to join their team. This role emphasizes mentorship and career development of the remote front end team, as well as management of the development, implementation, and maintenance of front end initiatives.
Key tech stack: JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS.

Salary: $120,000 - $145,000 (depending on experience) + full benefits

Location: 100% remote, must be located in one of the following states:

Responsibilities:
  • Empower teams to research, design, develop, and maintain existing and new websites/components.
  • Enable the growth and development of a team of front end engineers through mentorship and coaching.
  • Analyze progress and results within each product team, adjusting resources as needed according to user and engineering goals.
  • Provide guidance and oversight in project planning, technical design, estimating and development schedules.
  • Facilitate a culture of collaboration, transparency, innovation, and learning.
  • Oversee the execution of multiple projects simultaneously and ensure deadlines are met, without sacrificing quality.
  • Coordinate project priorities with other departments.
  • Conduct weekly 1-on-1 meetings and annual performance reviews.
  • Partner with Product Owners/Managers, department managers, and others to deliver results.
  • Continuously grow the team by hiring top talent and promoting engineers when ready.

Required:
  • Bachelors degree in an IT, computer, or technical field.
  • 3-5+ years of web or software engineering experience, including hands-on experience developing large-scale websites.
  • Experience managing an engineering team working on enterprise-level websites with an emphasis on leadership, coaching, motivation, and mentorship.
  • Knowledge of latest HTML, CSS, and JavaScript standards and APIs.
  • Knowledge of the latest front-end libraries and frameworks, especially React and common tools used by React applications.
  • Understanding of web analytics, accessibility, and performance metrics.
  • Experience delegating and executing on multiple projects collaboratively within a tight deadline.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
