Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Plano, TX. Candidates must have strong COBOL and JCL development experience to be considered for this role.

Rate Range: $47/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Developer job responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain code using COBOL and JCL across various mainframe applications.
• Work with databases such as DB2, IMS DB/DC, and VSAM for data handling and integration.
• Utilize IBM mainframe tools and utilities like FileAid, Spufi, Changeman, DFSORT, and IDCAMS for efficient development and troubleshooting.
• Participate in agile practices, including Scrum methodologies and tools like JIRA and ServiceNOW.
• Support issue resolution and enhancements, ensuring performance and reliability of legacy systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience in mainframe application development.
• Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on coding experience in COBOL and JCL.
• Strong expertise in IBM mainframe tools and utilities such as FileAid, Spufi, Changeman, DFSORT, and IDCAMS.

Pay Details: $47.00 to $49.00 per hour
