Job Description:

The SAP EWM Consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting SAP Extended Warehouse Management solutions, ensuring optimal warehouse and logistics operations that adhere to strict pharmaceutical industry compliance standards. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, IT teams, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation & Configuration: Lead or support full lifecycle SAP EWM implementations (on-premise or S/4HANA embedded), including requirement gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment.
  • Process Management: Design and configure core EWM processes, including inbound and outbound processing, physical inventory, internal movements, wave management, picking/put-away strategies, handling unit (HU) management, and yard management.
  • Compliance & Validation: Ensure all EWM solutions and processes comply with GxP (Good Practice) and CSV (Computer System Validation) standards specific to the pharmaceutical industry. This includes rigorous documentation and testing protocols.
  • Integration: Ensure seamless integration of SAP EWM with other core SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, QM, TM) and external systems like 3PL warehouses, carrier systems (FedEx, UPS, etc.), and manufacturing execution systems (MES) using interfaces like EDI/IDoc, APIs, or MFS.
  • Support & Troubleshooting: Provide L1/L2/L3 support, managing and resolving incidents, system errors, and day-to-day operational issues in a timely manner according to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Documentation & Training: Create and maintain detailed functional specifications, process documentation, configuration guides, and user training materials. Conduct workshops and training sessions for end-users and site business stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively monitor application performance, identify opportunities for process optimization, and contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and application features.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as an SAP EWM consultant or in a similar functional role, with at least 2-3 full-cycle implementations.
    • Specific experience in the Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or Healthcare industry is highly preferred, demonstrating an understanding of industry-specific compliance requirements (GxP, serialization, batch management).
    • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM is a significant advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Deep functional knowledge of SAP EWM configuration, including RF framework, warehouse order creation rules (WOCR), physical inventory, and wave management.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement.
    • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively within a global, cross-functional team environment.
  • Education/Certifications:
    • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
    • SAP EWM Certification is an advantage.
