Job Details

Position: Sr. SQL Developer

Duration: 1 Year

Work Location: Montgomery, Alabama (Onsite from Day 1)

Position Description:

Responsible for developing applications and integration using the Microsoft SQL server platform and providing technical/production support. This will include business intelligence/data analysis, reporting, capturing requirements, testing, monitoring, and implementing solutions via a structured software development life cycle.

The responsibilities of this position include but not limited to:

  • Provides Analytics support to Health Systems and Analytics Division.
  • Designs and develops reports in Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and ETL packages in Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Actively participate in meetings with project managers, team leads, analysts and other Agency staff as needed.
  • Assists in mentoring and training business analysts.
  • Writes SQL code accurately for the quality measures, with accurate understanding and knowledge of various databases.
  • Writes and deploys SQL patches.
  • Assists with schema design, code review and SQL query tuning.
  • Assists with application schema upgrades and improvement, and data upgrades.
  • Develops stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views using SQL.
  • Creates scripts to build new database objects.

Skills Required:

  • Intermediate professional level role. SSIS 2016 and higher SSRS SQL server management studio, MS office, good communication skills, ability to work on one or more projects at a time; sometimes as a team member or sometimes as a project leader.

Skills Preferred:

  • Critical thinking and ability to problem solving skills is a must.

Experience Required:

  • Typically has 10+ years of high-tech industry and/or IT work experience.

Education Required:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics.
