Description:
Job Title: Implementation Engineer
Work Location: Fort Washington, PA (hybrid)
Alternate Work Location: West Chester, PA (hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Perform Field Engineering and Vendor Management responsibilities for various build initiatives in the Intelligent Edge and video networks.
- Engineer and manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Involvement throughout the life cycle of a build, particularly to resolve technical issues as they present themselves.
- Utilize Verizon's Capacity Creation Process (CCP) system, Canvas system, Capital Management system, vSAP, and other internal systems to document all technical solutions and ensure timely deployment of all builds.
Functional Responsibilities Include:
- Project-specific installation instructions, engineering database (ICON, CCP) updates, equipment configurations, card/port assignments/requirements, power mapping, cable running lists, floor space and rack placement, and detailed Bill of Material (BOM).
- Partner with Engineering and Operations to provision and test the UT/iEN/5G networks throughout the country.
- Provide Field Technicians with Remote Configuration and Test support for all US Domestic growth and revenue projects, such as Card adds and Circuit adds.
- Support "in-service" network system reconfigurations, supporting on-site Field Technicians with high-level switching and real-time review of all system activity being performed during Maintenance Events.
- Submit Engineering Support recommendations to maintain real-time documentation of network systems infrastructure, cross connects, and circuit audit corrections.
- Work in the following engineering systems on a daily basis: UUI/Canvas, ICON, CCP, VPNS, ACTP, and Venue.
- Coordinate and drive Engineering issues to resolution.
- Manage multiple Capacity Creation Requests for new hardware deployments, reconfigurations, decommissions, and First Office Application (FOA) projects.
- Negotiate and coordinate overall project schedules for Engineering activities, construction start and completion dates.
- Accurately identify, monitor, report, escalate, and resolve technical issues encountered throughout the build process.
- Visit locations for the end-of-job (EOJ) walk-through/audit of build for installation practice adherence.
- Maintain excellent communication with Project Manager, Functional Team Members, and Direct Management to ensure early identification of issues and timely reporting of status.
Must Have Skills:
- College degree with a focus in engineering or other technical discipline or relative experience.
- Highly motivated, self-supervised, customer-focused individual with organizational and leadership skills to push all projects to completion, using conflict resolution, facilitation, solution-driven analysis, superior communication, and project methodology in combination with technical expertise in telecom network engineering.
- Excellent Excel, Word, and other MS application skills.
- Telecom Central Office Field Engineering experience or Telecom Central Office Operations experience, preferably within ******.
Desired Skills:
- Military experience is a strong plus.
- In-depth knowledge of IP72202 standard.
