Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Streaming Engineer to design, implement, monitor, and optimize live and on-demand streaming systems. This role will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality media experiences to global audiences, ensuring minimal latency, high availability, and seamless content delivery across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain live streaming and video-on-demand (VOD) pipelines using modern streaming protocols and platforms.
  • Configure and support encoding, transcoding, packaging, and delivery systems (e.g., HLS, DASH, CMAF).
  • Integrate CDN services (e.g., Akamai, Cloudflare, AWS CloudFront, Fastly) and monitor performance.
  • Manage streaming infrastructure in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure) and on-premises as needed.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to streaming quality, latency, buffering, synchronization, and system performance.
  • Implement monitoring tools and alerting systems for uptime, bitrate quality, packet loss, and error rates.
  • Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines for streaming-related applications and services.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to deliver scalable and reliable media experiences.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies and third-party tools for stream optimization and content protection (DRM, tokenization).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Media Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in streaming media, broadcast engineering, or video delivery.
  • Proficiency with streaming protocols and formats (RTMP, HLS, MPEG-DASH, SRT).
  • Experience with encoding/transcoding tools (e.g., FFmpeg, AWS Elemental, Wowza, Telestream).
  • Familiarity with media players and playback troubleshooting across web, mobile, and OTT platforms.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript).
  • Hands-on experience with CDN integration and media caching strategies.
  • Knowledge of DRM technologies (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay) and secure token authentication.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, live event environments when needed.
