Rohr Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, General Engineering in Chula Vista, CA. National and international travel to company facilities or to suppliers/customers, one to three times per year.

What YOU will do
  • Perform stress analysis and approve repairs to minimize aircraft downtime on all Collins Aerostructures commercial nacelle hardware that are compliant with certified type design and airworthiness (FAA/EASA) requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, making recommendations to management, and working on standardization to improve turnaround times.
  • Perform repair stress analysis and develop analytical methods for complex technical issues requiring creativity and ingenuity in supporting airline operational requirements, formal certification reports, and design changes.
  • Make quick engineering judgments and perform margin explorations for repair solutions based on certification analysis, on various nacelle components for different programs.
  • Apply advance structural analysis principles to support repair design development on metallic and composite structures.
  • Innovate, design, develop and implement technologies, components, sub-systems, machines, tools, and systems to ensure compliance to specifications, requirements, and operating conditions.
  • Work on various engineering projects and processes across engineering disciplines.
  • Perform complex engineering activities to include creating and implementing common procedures and standards for work across the company.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Must possess at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of progressive experience as an Aerospace Engineer or related role. In the alternative, at least a master's degree or its equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of experience as an Aerospace Engineer or related role would be acceptable.
  • Must possess at least 1 year of experience working in CATIA.
  • Must possess at least 1 year of experience with an ERP system.
  • Must possess at least 1 year of experience in DO-160.
  • Must possess at least 1 year of experience with project planning/management.
  • Must possess at least 1 year of experience with root cause corrective action tools.
  • Must possess a Project Management Professional Certification.

The salary range is $145,392.00 to $179,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
