Position: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Location: Vienna, VA area (Estimated 25% travel, including local and out-of-state)

Position Type: Full Time

Radiant Digital is seeking a talented, multi-faceted Executive Director in the Vienna, VA area to lead our Application Development, Data, and Infrastructure practice. As a key leadership role within our company, the ED will be involved in all aspects of the business, including client service delivery, new business development, and organizational growth.

Job Description

The Executive Director (ED) will be responsible for leading a diverse team of high performing employees and consultants, including architects, front-end and back-end developers, data engineers, and business analysts. The ED will oversee the full solution lifecycle execution client and internal company projects, will support business development, and will mentor and lead the technical staff. The ED will oversee the work of solution delivery project teams, relying on their extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish team goals.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership for the practice, both within the company and in client-facing engagements.
  • Work with the business development team as a Subject Matter Expert to identify, clarify, plan and win business opportunities with current and new clients.
  • Establish and disseminate processes and practices to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality solutions to our clients.
  • Maintain a strong command of current technology trends, including emerging paradigms, languages and practices.
  • Work with product partners in delivery
  • Develop quality assurance and control policies and procedures.
  • Direct and monitor large/complex business programs. Develop and execute strategic plans for company and client programs and projects.
  • Report to senior management on a regular basis and maintain effective and consistent communication and tracking of all assigned programs and projects.
  • Lead and coach a team of software developers, architects, and other technical staff, working in a global delivery model.
  • Hire team members, plan, assign, and direct work.
  • Appraise team performance, address complaints and resolve problems.

Critical Competencies

  • Strong, broad technical skill with experience in a variety of technical roles.
  • Team leadership in onshore/offshore global delivery environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative relationships with peers, client stakeholders and senior company leadership.
  • Agile, DevSecOps, and CI/CD.
  • Data management, engineering and analytics, AI/ML.
  • Strong command of cloud development and infrastructure practices.
  • Experience in Telecom is not required but is considered a big plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
  • 10+ years of large scale complex commercial software engineering experience, 3+ years in management.

Travel

  • Estimated 25% travel, including local and out-of-state
