Job Details

Sirius staffing is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support ongoing infrastructure initiatives across Power Plants, Solar Fields, and Control Centers. The primary responsibilities include patching and upgrading Cisco routers and switches, performing vulnerability assessments, and maintaining the stability and security of complex network environments.
 
This is a W2, fully onsite contract role in Tampa, FL. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Patch, upgrade, and maintain Cisco network equipment (routers/switches).
  • Implement and manage LAN, WAN, SDN, and OT network infrastructure to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Oversee deployment and maintenance of Cisco technologies through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure network security and compliance by enforcing policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry regulations.
  • Replace routers and switches at various site locations as needed.
  • Design, implement, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points across multiple environments.
  • Collaborate with server and storage teams to ensure seamless installation and configuration.
  • Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues involving servers, networks, DDoS protection, and NetScaler load balancers.
  • Provide project-level guidance and support peers on security-related matters.
 
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8+ years of network management experience with Cisco technologies, WAN, and SDN.
  • 5 -7 years designing, implementing, and supporting network devices.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Strong experience patching/upgrading Cisco equipment.
  • Router/switch configuration and break-fix expertise. Broad awareness of cloud, compute, and storage environments; vendor and operations management; and ITIL practices.
  • Must be eligible to work for any US employer without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in Data Center Architecture, OT networks, or utility/industrial environments.
  • Strong IP networking skills.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with network licensing optimization.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based networking services and emerging technologies.
  • Commitment to staying current with industry best practices.
