Systems Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Canonsburg, PA that is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their infrastructure group and help manage critical server-side technologies. This position plays a key role in maintaining reliable, secure, and scalable systems across hybrid environments.

Responsibilities:
* Administer and support virtualized platforms, ensuring performance and stability
* Manage backup and recovery solutions to protect enterprise data
* Configure and maintain Linux and Windows servers for optimal uptime
* Deliver enterprise services across on-premises and cloud environments
* Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot issues and implement improvements

REQUIREMENTS:
* 3-5 years of experience in a Systems Engineer or similar infrastructure role
* Strong working knowledge of virtualization platforms (Nutanix AHV and/or VMware ESXi)
* Experience with enterprise backup and DR solutions (e.g., HYCU, Commvault, ExaGrid, Data Domain)
* Solid understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, including domain controllers, DNS, and GPOs
* Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Azure services and management consoles
* Familiarity with AWS infrastructure
* Experience supporting both Windows and Linux servers in an enterprise environment
* Working knowledge of identity management tools such as Okta
* Strong troubleshooting skills and experience supporting enterprise applications and services
* Scripting/automation with PowerShell or similar tools
* Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies and enterprise systems
* Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
* Familiarity with cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure models
* Ability to adapt to evolving business needs and work across multiple technologies

Preferred:
* Exposure to automation tools and scripting for infrastructure management
* Experience with disaster recovery strategies and performance tuning

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
