Job Title: Trade Compliance Analyst- Contract L6
Location: Plainfield, IL (Hybrid)
Duration: 5-month contract
Pay Rate: $38- $40/hour DOE

Job Summary:
  • The role is responsible for supporting and managing an effective Customs & Excise compliance program across U.S. and Canadian operations. This includes oversight of import and excise regulations concerning finished goods, raw materials, and bulk products. The position focuses on the execution of import strategies, particularly for U.S. operations, and requires deep knowledge of customs laws and procedures. The ideal candidate will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders while maintaining high levels of compliance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in overseeing a comprehensive Customs & Excise compliance program and deliverables.
  • Ensure adherence to import and excise regulations in both the U.S. and Canada, covering all types of goods including finished, bulk, and raw materials.
  • Support daily operational tasks by ensuring that all reporting and compliance activities are executed on time and in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Play a key role in rolling out new U.S. import strategies, requiring working knowledge of relevant U.S. customs laws and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across multiple stakeholders while working independently and making sound decisions when necessary.

Key Outputs:
  • Produce accurate reports and perform data analysis to support compliance and business needs.
  • Gather, review, and systematically organize relevant documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of standard procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and gather feedback to deliver compliant and efficient outcomes.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (including functions like pivot tables and VLOOKUP).
  • Familiarity with SAP systems; experience using Global Trade Management (GTM) software is a plus.
  • Bachelor s degree is preferred; strong analytical skills are essential.
  • Holding a U.S. Customs Broker License or possessing relevant customs experience is preferred.
